doorQ.com has gotten a spike in traffic!

New people stopping are stopping by, tracking back on the url in the pictures and searching on some of the keywords from the post. With Comic Con happening this weekend in San Diego, hopefully more folks will click through when searching for news about sci-fi, fantasy, horror, or comics!

Just to recap, doorQ.com started out as an idea for a place to post the genre films with gay characters and themes my friends and I were making. As things have matured, my partners and I realized there was a hell of a lot more to create than just that. We decided to build a space containing lots of networking and community building opportunities, like blogs, discussion forums, personal profiles, and matchmaking, alongside podcasts, new photos, interviews, user-generated content and, most important of all, original dramatic and non-fiction content.

It's not a porn site. It will be edgy, along the lines of HBO, with sections and content reserved for Mature Audiences. Think the frankness of shows such as Oz or the sensusality of Bruce Webber photography. (But with a genre twist.)

The landing page is for updates, news, announcements, the occasional podcast, and a few sneak peaks of what's going on. You can see the people we've gotten on board (Chad Allen, Kerry O'Quinn, others.) We're also curious to get some feedback from you guys, your thoughts of the kinds of things you are looking for in the site, the stories you like, even your own projects and events -- ways that we here at doorQ can help.

There's a lot of work to do behind the scenes to get this ship ready for launch, but we go live on... drum-roll please...
