I Worked For It...
February 07, 2007

...but I didn't think I'd get to see it happen so soon.

USA TODAY: "Gay teens coming out earlier to peers and family"

The unexpected irony of all this is that as society becomes even more accepting of gay teens and adolescents, the "Post Gay" phenomena likely to become ever larger. It's not that much of a stretch to think that gays will be allowed to serve openly in the military within 10 years. Domestic Partnerships and perhaps even Gay marriage itself will be widespread within 15. The wide use of VOD and Internet TV will push content currently localized only on Logo and Here!, the USA's two gay TV networks, into even more homes and households within the same span of time.

In such a world, homophobia will be of the form and intensity that racism is now -- still present though greatly reduced in prevelence and impact, rearing it's ugly head just often enough to grab headlines and cause (public) apologies and rehabilitations.

Damn.

What will I have to complain about then?
