Lucas chimes in on the future of movie making, indicating that $200 million films are too risky, and that smaller films, shot and distributed digitally, to PVRs and DVDs are the way to go.

He can't write for shit, but damn if he doesn't understand the future of this industry.

George Lucas has always been a Tech Director more interested in the technique of film. He is blatant about how bored he is with Actors and writing is a drudge. It shows! The orginal Star Wars films at least had some decent writers and a near great director for Empire. I still think George peaked as a Director with THX1138! A wag at IMDB opined "It's all been downhill for George Lucas since THX 1138" Jody How will you distribute your film?

Can't quite agree with that.

Star Wars is still a phenomenal piece of work -- thrilling, moving, exciting -- even if the dialogue is really weak ("I wanna go to Tosche Station!!!"). Revenge of the Sith has moments where, with just the use of visuals, editing and music, Lucas fantasically conveys something he only barely understands (emotions.) I can't knock him for everything. I just wish he'd listened to the people who rewrote him on Ep. II and III, instead of focusing on the visuals (...his toys...) as he's want to do.

Distribution for the short is first on the Film Festival Circut, then will most likely be some combination of DVD-VOD-iTunes distribution. When I'm done, I'll also give folks a preview here and on Brent's page.
