Intelligent Design is Bananas
August 26, 2006

Dear, sweet Christine of Talkwisdom fame commented about how the Reverend Ray Comfort has provided powerful critiques of evolution and masterful, well-supported defenses of Intelligent Design as the true explanation of the diversity of life around us though his numerous books and articles.

Since we're all pressed for time and couldn't possibly make our way through all 50 of his books, I thought I'd provide this quickie video summary, from the Reverend Comfort himself, of his "nightmare" inducing critique evolution and his evidentiary support of ID.

Feel free to share it with your friends.

I'm betting his writings are equally nightmarish.

Fantastic. I almost choked on the pineapple I was eating when I saw this! :)

Ah! Imagine that! Christians with a sense of humor caught on video! I particularly enjoyed seeing Kirk Cameron chuckling...

The banana. A wonderful type of fruit. One of my favorites, in fact. I can make a banana split sundae, cut one up to put on cereal or in a tasty fruit salad, or just eat it all by itself!

It's sad though. Some people can even take something as simple as a banana, that was originally designed for good eating and deemed healthy and beneficial for the human body, and turn it into an awful "instrument" of horror and depravity.

I hate to bring this up, in fact. It will destroy the levity we have enjoyed here. But when I was typing this reply, for some reason, my laughter turned to deep sadness as I suddenly recalled a very terrible and disgusting incident that happened to a young boy back in 1999.

An incident such as the one that happened to this boy named Jesse, can be considered an example of the fact that the evil and depraved minds of fallen mankind can turn anything into what "God meant for good, others meant for evil."

Perhaps you are reading this and wondering what on earth I could be referring to?

It was the horrible, nightmarish sexual abuse, torture, and death in 1999 of 13 year old Jesse Dirkhising at the hands of two homosexual pederasts. One of their instruments of torture and abuse was a gruesome act using a banana. Ultimately, the "sex torture" of the men caused the death of Jesse.

Haven't heard of this murder?

Perhaps the reason is because it was one of the most spiked stories of 1999.

Here's a link to 17,500 sites so you could read all the gross and disgustingly abhorrent details about the evil that was done on this boy.

Hard to believe that two grown homosexual men would find pleasure in using a food object to harm and torture a young teen boy. Depraved and reprobate minds can even use a banana for evil purposes...

P.S. I doubt that this post will meet with the site owner's approval to post...like the WND "spiked stories" reveal...it's the wrong kind of "hate crime" that needs to be stifled in the press.

I'll take non-sequiters for $500, Alex...

Christine, are you just following a script here, posting the next in a series of pre-printed commentaries in response to critiques of your postings, or are you really just incapable of arguing one subject through and through?

Jessie Dirkhising isn't the subject here. I discussed that one several years ago the first time the "liberal media" censorship argument was spewed by the Superstitious Set. The best take down of the whole kerfluffle was Time Magazine's editorial, available through Wikipedia, which summarized the whole Sheppard/Dirkhising non-debate with:

"Could it be because we in the media elite were unwilling to publicize crimes committed by homosexuals because it didn't suit our agenda? The next stop in that line of reasoning was clear: That news is controlled by a bunch of gay-loving liberals only too happy to wield a double standard...[Dirkhising murder] offered no lessons. Shepard's murder touches on a host of complex and timely issues: intolerance, society's attitudes toward gays and the pressure to conform, the use of violence as a means of confronting one's demons. Jesse Dirkhising's death gives us nothing except the depravity of two sick men. There is no lesson here, no moral of tolerance, no hope to be gleaned in the punishment of the perpetrators."

I also find it ironic that you linked to a WMD article accusing Clinton of creating "Unconstitutional Laws" with the stroke of a pen but have nary a word of condemnation for Bush, who does the same thing with the same degree of regularity.

The above though is "off-topic" as they say. Watching all of that insufferable Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron video, they weren't joking. That same "Yumma Banana" argument was made time and time again, in a variety of forms, alongside some nifty and ultimately meaningless CGI effects.

Comfort is no expert on evolution and astrophysics -- two of the topics he covered in his video. Cameron, an actor, is even less so. They simply are unable to provide substantive arguments in defense of their positions, just like you. Expertise in religion? That's not hard to do. Any fool can claim Expert Knowledge of Nothing -- all it takes is a Bible and a Blog.

The ADL has already chimed in on the egregiousness of linking Hitler and the Holocaust to Darwin's theory. The entire idea of a hierarchy of nature, with certain groups more privileged than others, isn't a Darwinian idea. It goes back to Aristotle and was further expounded upon by...stop me if you've heard this before...Christians, who wedded Aristotlian philosophy to Christian dogma by way of Genesis and the "Great Chain of Being" derived from Yahweh's creation of man, land, and beasts. Darwin didn't create Man's inhumanity to Man, arguments by the intellectually bankrupt to the contrary.

Lastly, I don't know if your P.S. is supposed to be some kind of challenge or not. I've never had a desire to censor a fool's comments. I have enough faith in my fellows that they'll be seen for the excrement they are. The noxious smell carries, even over a video screen.
