Crapback
February 17, 2006
Sitting across from the couch, or on the other side of the hot seat, my experience was that when someone was called on their crap, a client's most common reaction was yelling, screaming, and crying about everything else but the issue in question. No matter how long they bloviated with veiled denials, camouflaged blame passing or out and and out stonewalling, at the end of the day, the harsh truth remained the same.
I really couldn't say if most people ever really admitted to what was in question and moved on. It all blurs together. The only people who did though, were those who recognized the problem, realized why it occurred, their own responsibility in it, and worked diligently to correct it.
I was always happy for them, but both pissed at and sad for the rest.
