Paul justifies the unjustifiable by drawing pretty pictures. At work, we'd smile when the kids drew us pictures of Snarfalafargi coming to tea, vet the drawings for signs of psychological disturbance, hang the pictures up on the wall, and move quietly on with adult business.
I'd suggest the same thing here.
