Just like that...

...the script was done.

Seriously. When I sat down this afternoon to write the last act I popped open my treatment started reading the scenes outlined there and went "Wow, lots of detail. Let's paste that in." I read the next scene scribbled there, found it to be good and pasted that in. Before I knew it I'd gone from Page 71 on my screenplay to page 85 with a pretty well crafted and paced finale, including gunshots and people falling off the roof of the ancestral estate.

Shazzam.

It's usually far more difficult than that, or at least it has been before. Stumbling to the ending, falling flat on the finish line is a far more climactic battle than this go-around.

But I'm not complaining.

Look, I've still got easily another 15 pages to go and "fill in." There are a few scenes that are just a dash of prose to jump me on. By the time I'm done, I may even add another 20 or 25 to the script. But essentially I now have a very, very messy First Draft. It's a little short, quite confusing and in need of a lot of massaging, but hey, I'd vastly prefer re-writing to writing any day of the week.

Yeah for me. I think I'll go blow shit up.
