Great post by Ed at In the Agora, but I think he errs a bit with his concluding remarks about how "[b]oth sides continually attempt to frame the issue as a battle between atheism and Christianity. The information provided to us by science really does undercut the premises and explanation of Christianity and every other religion on the planet. When information and understanding is grounded in repeatable, viewable results, it does shake the foundations of anything "revealed." After awhile, the mounting arguments due underscore atheism -- at the very least agnosticism -- over those of religion. While that doesn't mean that people of religion can't be scientists, it does force the explanations provided by those religions to become more and more diffuse and ethereal.
