It's that time of year again...
January 13, 2004

In just a few short hours -- 6 to be exact -- your dearly beloved Uncle Jody (the funny one people always talk about) will be making his yearly trek to the Great White North (otherwise known as Utah.) There, just a scant few miles outside of the bastion of white bread, white snow and white boys, I'll slip past the phalanx of the Chosen, steal away into a little cab, and join the throngs of invading Cinephiles for the 2004 Sundance Film Festival. Between dodging avalanches, braving frostbite, and choking on clean air, I'll be managing a movie theater and enjoying wonderful, witty and timeless interactions with many of the same people I meet right here in Los Angeles. For Sundance just wouldn't be Sundance without all of the cell phones, double soy no-fat lattes and attitude, attitude attitude by stars, celebrities and wannabe's.

Given that last year I did such a terrible job of updating my blog constantly during that time, there's no promises much of anything will happen around here for the next two weeks. I'll try to post what I can, when I can, but asking people for their tickets really takes a toll after a while and often the body just doesn't have the will to blog. As absence makes the heart grow fonder, I know all of you will wait with baited breath for my grad, eloquent and much desired return.

So until we next meet again, mind your manners, eat your veggies, and always remember that while there are no Angry Sky Gods watching you, Big Brother really is.
