Very interesting profile of John Ashcroft
This was a lesson that John David Ashcroft absorbed as a Pentecostal minister's son reared in an Assemblies of God congregation in Springfield, Mo. The moral was clear: Never waver, never doubt, never permit skepticism and mockery to deter you from the course you believe is right.Today Ashcroft -- the Bush administration's front man in its war on terrorism -- is expanding his power as attorney general with a stunning degree of moral certitude. Never one to see issues in shades of gray, he believes America's campaign against terror is as black and white as it gets.
