Religious group assails agency's gay volunteers

Bill Maier, Focus on the Family vice president, said in a statement, " . . . I am saddened to see this notable organization subverting the values of millions of parents." One e-mail account at Valley Big Brothers Big Sisters was flooded with 20,000 complaints in 24 hours. The non-profit is also getting complaints locally from people withdrawing support.

Yes, please, help kids out. Just don't let those evil homosexuals come near them. No, no. It's not that we're worried about them molesting the kids, it's that we're worried the kids might learn that our prejudices about gays and lesbians is a malodorous pile o' crap. Then they might realize that most of what our organization says is crap, and we just can't have that.

While I don't agree with the Focus On The Family organization, they do however have the right to stick to an opinion which they have held for a very long time. They deserve credit for sticking to what they believe, even if it is not popular.

Most religious christians, including those that founded focus on the family believe homosexuality to be wrong. A believe they are entitled to. While it may seem harsh to stop something seemingly harmless to their core values. What would be the next step for them? Their core audience still believes being gay is wrong. More power to people for sticking to what they feel instead of being trendy bitches :)

I however tend to disagree, but to each his own.

Sure, they can stick to an ignorant, hateful and ultimately self defeating opinion all they want. Heck, they can even publicize the crap out of it. It's the implementation of it that tics me off.
