David Artemiw was kind enough
May 15, 2002

David Artemiw was kind enough to point out that part of the reason why the Canadian Supreme Court intervened in the workings of a Catholic school by forcing it to allow Marc Hall to attend with his boyfriend, is that Catholic schools up north take federal monies to educate students. Unlike here in the US, the Catholic school system in Canada is part of the public school system. They couldn't claim religious liberty, violate the Canadian Charter on Human Rights and still take federal funds according to the Court.

David gives a pretty good history on his site of the whole matter.

And, if anyone actually knows Marc Hall, tell him the hair looked fabulous with that shirt.
