Atrios Links over to this story about defeating Sony copy protection on music CD's. It's actually funny to realize that the millions of dollars I'm sure the tech guys spent creating copy protection that can crash Mac's can be overcome with a little ink. I think Atrios is right -- I'm probably in violation of the DMCA by linking to a story on how to defeat the copy protection. However, as a co-worker of mine pointed out, if I were to compose the felt-pen information into a haiku, a story or a dirty limerick, I'd be perfectly within my rights to say whatever I wanted about it.
We just love wacky laws.
