Microsoft's new security drive aims to appease Hollywood, comfort consumers and reinvigorate the PC. But will the price for such safety be too high?

Microsoft is still pushing to be the single supplier of software and data management, world wide. And I still don't think it's a good idea. While the interactivity of Microsoft's products are great, that comes with an incredible price: break the security on any one product and you are more than likely to have access to many, many more.

It seems that the thrust of business shouldn't be to consolidate all the power of data and software in the hands of one, privately held company. It just seems too much like the plot from a dystopian movie.
